Life Metaphors
Thursday, January 24th, 2013Tuesday night I had a date night with my husband. Our first Oiler game of the season! We got there in good time to view the “jersies on ice” display. In case you didn’t see it on the news or first hand, the Oilers, had a promotional feature. They displayed team jersies in 600lb blocks of ice. Scattered around the main entrances, frozen in ice were a variety of authentic team jersies. These are to be given away to frozen fans. We took our photos in front of a few and had fun doing so. But as I was sipping my FREE drink, also sponsored by the Oilers, I couldn’t help but think how the jersies on ice were a metaphor for the late season start. Think of all the unplayed games those jersies represented. The frozen NHL season until an agreement was reached. I don’t know if that was the intention of the PR department, but I admit, the thought made me laugh.
Have you ever seen or done something that was a visual metaphor?
